FIT is LIVE! | Small FIT 2.0 open for business
At long last, the Small FIT Application window has opened. This means that the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) will now begin taking submissions for solar and other renewable energy projects with a proposed capacity of more than 10 kilowatts and up to 500 kilowatts. All of the new rules, forms and contract information is available on the OPA’s website at: http://fit.powerauthority.on.ca/what-feed-tariff-program
Please note that the small FIT Application start date is December 14, 2012, and the application end date is January 18, 2013.
First General Meeting of HARE
Anyone interested in being a part of growing the renewable energy sector in Hamilton should book their calendars now! On Sunday January 27th, 2013 from 1:30 pm to 4 pm, HARE will be holding its first General Meeting at the Hamilton Public Library’s main branch, 55 York Blvd. We will be meeting in the Hamilton or Wentworth rooms, both of which are located on the main floor of library, straight back from the entrance on York Boulevard.
We are very excited to announce that Mr. Tom Chessman, Vice President of Hamilton Renewable Power Inc., (a corporation of the City of Hamilton), will be providing a presentation on the incredible renewable energy initiatives that the City is doing. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the initiative’s impressive ability to generate electricity using biogas from landfill (3.2MW) and waste water (1.6MW).
Call for Board Nominations
If you have interest in being on the board of HARE, then here’s your chance. We are putting out a call for nominations! The Hamilton Association for Renewable Energy (HARE) will elect Board Members at our first Annual General Meeting on January 27th.
Once elected, the Board members will elect Board members to fulfill the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer and such other positions as they may determine from time to time. The HARE bylaws describes the responsibilities of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. At the first AGM, all positions will be open for election. Nominations will close on 20th January.
